An original, hallmarked silver or silver plated shooting prize goblet presented by the Kriegerverein Windhuk (Veterans' Association of Windhoek) on 7 May 1910, under the rule of the Imperial German Colonial Administration in German South West Africa (modern-day Namibia).Hand-engraved inscription: "Krieger-Verein Windhuk 1. Schiesspreis 7. Mai 1910", denoting 1st prize in a military marksmanship competition. Raised gilt laurel wreath band signifying victory/honour.
Hallmarked base with Crescent Moon & Crown, 800 silver purity, and a maker’s mark (appears to be Hanau school craftsmanship – stylistically consistent with German Jugendstil metalwork).Heavy, hand-crafted form with rolled lip and rounded base, suggesting quality manufacture for formal presentation.
Goblets like this were awarded to German officers, settlers, or Schutztruppe veterans for ceremonial or competitive events, making it a trophy of both military culture and colonial history.
