A scarce Parker-Hale A.G.A. Model 9G precision micrometer rear sight, specifically designed for use with the Long Lee-Enfield (Lee-Metford and early SMLE variants). This model features a fine-threaded vertical and horizontal adjustment mechanism, with dual knurled micrometer drums for precise windage and elevation control. The sight attaches to the side of the receiver via a spring-loaded arm and clamp system, carefully machined to suit the earlier Lee-Metford/Lee-Enfield long rifles which did not originally include such advanced aperture sights. The Model 9G was often used by competition marksmen and military-trained rifle shooters in the interwar and early postwar periods, especially in civilian rifle clubs across the Commonwealth. The sight design allowed older Long Lee rifles to remain competitive in fullbore matches despite advances in newer rifle systems.
