An original Rhodesian military-issue combat field backpack, constructed of rugged green canvas with reinforced stitching and webbing, designed for extended patrols and field operations during the Rhodesian Bush War. The design is highly functional, made to withstand the harsh African operational environment, combining durability, practicality, and light weight for bush operations. The pack features dual front securing straps with metal friction buckles, a reinforced top flap with load-distribution handle, and multiple external loops for additional equipment attachment. Used primarily by Rhodesian Light Infantry, Selous Scouts, RAR, and other security forces during counter-insurgency.Unlike the bulkier SADF Pattern 70/73 packs, Rhodesian packs were often made smaller and lighter to suit "fireforce" tactics — rapid deployment by helicopter and short-duration patrols.
