A rare matched set of Pattern 64 canvas pouches for the FN MAG-58 / GPMG, comprising one Rhodesian and one South African Defence Force (SADF) example. Both are constructed from heavy-duty canvas with steel fittings, securing straps, and belt attachments, designed to carry 100-round disintegrating link belts for the MAG-58. The Rhodesian pouch (left) is made from khaki canvas with reinforced stitched seams and distinctive double D-rings for belt suspension, showing field wear consistent with Bush War usage (1960s–1979). The SADF pouch (right) is of slightly lighter canvas with the more standardised South African webbing attachment system, introduced in the 1970s and used extensively during the South African Border War (1966–1989). These items represent two closely related armies’ adoption of the FN MAG, the backbone of their infantry firepower in counter-insurgency operations. Collectable both as individual pouches and as a comparative set illustrating cross-national equipment design.
