A striking set of insignia from the South West Africa Tactical Reaction Force, consisting of a chromed cap badge featuring a roaring lion’s head above a scroll reading “SEMPER PUGNANS” (Latin: “Always Fighting”), symbolising aggression and elite readiness. Accompanying the cap badge are a pair of oxidised silver artillery collar badges, each showing crossed cannons. These indicate the wearer was part of an artillery detachment or fire support unit within the Reaction Force. This configuration would have been worn on ceremonial or dress uniforms by members of SWATF’s artillery-trained troops, who played key roles in base defence and indirect fire support during operations in northern Namibia.
