Bronze openwork shoulder title reading “TRANSVAAL / SCOTTISH”, of arched oval form with thistle motifs at each end. This is the shoulder title of the Transvaal Scottish Regiment, a South African infantry unit with strong Scottish traditions. The construction, lettering style and patination are consistent with early 20th-century manufacture, intended for wear on service dress uniforms.
