An original South African Special Forces patrol vest, designed and produced by Niemoller Tactical Equipment around 2008 for issue and operational use by elite Reconnaissance Commando (Recces) and Pathfinder units of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF).This particular vest is constructed from high-durability olive-green nylon with heavy-duty buckles and zips, configured for long-range patrol use. Features multiple front and rear utility pouches, internal hydration space, and a padded yoke system for even weight distribution. One pouch zipper is noted as faulty, otherwise in good used operational condition.Faintly named to the original operator “Died…KS,” suggesting verifiable unit provenance.
These Niemoller vests were produced in limited quantities, replacing the older Pattern 83 chest rigs and becoming the preferred field gear for small-unit reconnaissance elements. Rarely released outside South Africa, making it a highly collectable post-apartheid Special Forces artefact.
