Cloth formation/shoulder patch for 6 Reconnaissance Commando (“6 Recce”), part of the South African Defence Force Special Forces (Recces). The design shows “6 RECCE” at top with the central commando-style dagger motif and scrollwork, and the nickname “PHILLI STINES” at the bottom. This is not Rhodesian SAS (Rhodesia ends 1980); but Rhodesian started this after 1981.“6 Recce” is a South African Special Forces designation, making the identification high-confidence.
