Original German K98 bayonet leather frog manufactured in 1940 by Carl Busse, Mainz, as indicated by the embossed maker's stamp visible on the reverse. Constructed from heavy black leather with integral belt loop, twin rivet reinforcement, and stitched scabbard pocket, this frog was designed to carry the standard S84/98 Pattern III bayonet issued with the Karabiner 98k rifle. The maker's stamp and wartime date confirm production during the early years of the Second World War. Original 1940-dated frogs by recognised German manufacturers remain desirable accessories for completing K98 bayonet sets.
