South African Defence Force maroon/burgundy beret associated with the elite Reconnaissance Commandos (“Recces”). The internal label is clearly marked SAPHI 2000, Size 60, 1998, State Property Not For Sale, making this a post-Border War manufacture rather than an original operational-era SADF Recce beret. It retains the black/orange/green rectangular flash; no Recce badge is present in the photographs. A useful post-1994 South African military continuation/heritage example.
