Dark green South African infantry beret manufactured by Specifico, dated 1966/67 and internally marked “RIFLEMAN (W)”. Fitted with the distinctive gilt springbok-head infantry badge bearing the Afrikaans motto “REDE INTREPID”, together with the green-and-orange backing bar. A strong, clearly dated example of apartheid-era South African Defence Force infantry headgear.
